Dream Team Creates Green Glamour for Lucky Couple

A little green goes a long way. You could describe Nic and Bram as, well, at first

glance….beautiful, but naturally so! The lovely twosome make for a fashion forward, artsy and

eclectic pair. Their wedding took place at Birmingham Museum of Art (we were told it was the

first ceremony in the sculpture garden!). In way of design, I had a specific goal that trod a fine

line. I wanted to combine opulence with things found in nature, making sure I captured this

couple’s personality perfectly! At the ceremony, garden trees flanked by candlelit lanterns

hovered over bamboo chairs framing a unique moss covered huppah. The style was continued

through to dinner where mossed cubes in various sizes sat atop natural burlap covered tables. We

strategically added custom lamps (orchid filled glass bases with burlap covered lamp shades) and

blue grey silk monogrammed runners to once again pair luxe with nature. The custom

monogrammed designed by Sonia Davis Designs was found throughout the entire wedding in the

cake, ice sculpture, and lighting. It seemed more like their very own family crest. The southern

style (fried chicken, oh yes!) seated dinner was on beautiful platters passed about by the amazing

staff of Kathy G. The café felt more like an upscale home’s dining room. Still there was an

artistic flair of modern white flooring in the museum’s café and we added moss arbor over the

head table with gorgeous collection chandeliers hanging above. And if you haven’t had enough

green yet…recycled paper was used on programs and newspaper style welcome booklets as well

as emptied wine bottles from the couple’s rehearsal dinner were used for the guests sign in. The

bride wore a Melissa Sweet gown that appeared custom made for her, while the wedding party

was super chic in beautiul J.Crew navy blue cocktail dresses, the girls accessorized with pale blue

pashminas. Those same pale blue pashminas, as well as navy and white ones were tied in raffia

adorned with a monogrammed hangtag and given as favors to all the female guests. So many

special touches were put on this wedding its difficult to capture the essence of just how

customized it was to Nicole and Abraham’s true personalities. After a long and luxurious

evening, the guests seemed to buzz in recount of their exciting night. They recalled kicking it off

with Sophia Blanc de Blanc minis as they arrived to a Jazz trio in the lobby, the avant garde like

ceremony, signature drink cocktail hour and a full southern style seated dinner complete with

dancing courtesy of tunes by The Heather Hayes Band. The wedding was coveted by all and a

huge thanks to the dream team of vendors – Kathy G., Jerrod Brown Photography, Flowerstems,

Design Productions LLC, Olexas, Sonia Davis, Apex Valet, and so many more. We at Kerri

Kelley Weddings were proud to design and plan this wedding, we whole heartedly put our stamp

on this one!
