PWG and Engaged have signed up a new photographer. The ladies of Steel Photography! We had the pleasure of meeting Mrs. Michelle Campbell and Miss Tanika Moore months back when they stopped by Engaged is see what we were We became friends and this past Sunday we had the honor of them capturing our 3rd annual SoHo Bridal Show for us! This sweet bride Allie is marrying a Swedish man in a few short weeks. Allie told me about the Swedish culture involving weddings. When a couple becomes “Engaged” the man gives his bride the band. That’s right ladies just the band, not the diamond yet. The groom also wears his band during the entire Engagement! (Love that!) so the bride does not see the diamond ring until they exchange vows on the wedding day…how romantic!!!

The Perfect Wedding Guide and Engaged will present the SoHo Bridal Show on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Homewood’s Rosewood Hall in SoHo Square, 2850 19th St. South.

Wedding day swag bags will be given to the first 100 pre-registered brides. Attendees can sign up for thousands of dollars in door prizes. 

Brides and their guests will learn about the latest wedding trends from nearly 60 vendors, including travel agents, beauty experts, wedding planners, photographers, caterers,  gown dealers and more. A live band will perform and cake samples will be available. The venue will be divided into floral themes that will feature fresh, funky, flirty, fantasy and fabulous design concepts.

On Saturday, July 24th, I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Hillary and Jon in Birmingham, AL.  They were married at The Cathedral of St. Paul.  What an amazing church.  The evening light streaming in made the Cathedral especially romantic.  

The church recently built a new hall that is truly a wonderful for space for any reception.  From the ultra large wooden french doors leading to a terrace, to the the balcony from which the newly married couple made their first appearance, it oozed romance and elegance.

Hillary looked so beautiful in her designer wedding gown by Watters fromThe White Room.  Her shoes were Stewart Weitzman’s from Saks and her jewelery from Jcrew bridal. The girls wore beautiful black bridesmaids dresses designed by Lula Kate from Bella Bridesmaid.  

The men looked so handsome in a traditional black tuxedo.  The cater was Cafe Iz.  Oh my gosh, the food was spectacular.  They served beef that was prefectly tender, as well as shrimp, which was a huge favorite of the guests.  There were also crab cakes, cheeses and even chicken tenders…Music was provided by the Motown band, Momentum, from Atlanta. People ate and danced until well after midnight…

I had an up-close and personal chance to see how attentive Hillary and Jon are to one another.  What a joy to see two people so happy!  Congrats to you both! –Jennifer Jones Photography
